Hello Kitty Debuts First Shoe Collection With Twenty10 Footwear- Would You Wear Hello Kitty’s Shoes?

We hate to part with childhood friends, and Hello Kitty is no exception. Considering Kitty is 36-years-old (and just welcomed a fashion-forward baby sister), it’s only natural that she’s working with the big girls now by introducing the Hello Kitty by Twenty10 Footwear line, which debuted their holiday 2011 and spring 2012 collections in July. The collection of rainboots, sneakers, and cutesy heels lies somewhere between youthful whimsy and grown-up charm. Clearly, these pretty peep-toes may not be office-appropriate, but for the formerly faithful Hello Kitty fan, we don’t doubt they can soon become a lovable favorite.

Haute or Faux? iFashion Network Weighs in on DAK’s Fall/Winter 2011 Line

My daughter is enamored these days with all things Little House on the Prairie.  Seems that the creative geniuses behind the DAKS brand may also be smitten.  At London’s Fashion Week, the line displayed  plenty of long, full skirts worn with tucked-in sweaters layered over buttoned-to-the-chin blouses (Ma would have worn these).  Buttoned-up  plaid ruffled blouses paired with long plaid skirts were more Miss Beadle’s style.  Oversized plaid capes in giant patterns layered over plaid button-downs and paired with retro-looking ankle boots would have kept Laura warm through a Plum Creek winter.  And an ivory hooded sweater/skirt/scarf combo would have been just the thing that the snarky Nellie Olsen would have waltzed into school in.  Despite all these period pieces, there were some bright spots in the collection.  Monochromatic numbers were sophisticated and sleeker than their plaid counterparts.  The best ensemble?  A black calf-length pencil skirt paired with a belted short sleeve trench.  It achieved a glamorous retro vibe without seeming the least bit costumey.  We hope next season brings a softer touch to the offerings, and in the meantime we apologize for sticking the Little House theme song in your head – we can’t get rid of it either…

Oscar de la Renta Resort 2012

Oscar de la Renta showed his newest installment at his 42nd St. showroom in New York City last week.  The collection, inspired by his Spanish roots and cubist elements from Picasso’s works, was modern, cool, and inviting.  Ensembles ranged from the ladylike and demure to the uber saucy.  Scribble patterned sheath dresses in black and white and occasional brights and patchwork appliqués were plentiful and easy to wear.  Crisp boleros paired with skinny trousers, flouncy bright colored one-shouldered gowns with high slits, and voluminous gowns with sashes  evoked the pageantry of a bullfight, but somehow on a sophisticated and tasteful level.  Zorro-style hats tied it all together.  A smart ¾ sleeve polka dot knee length shirt-dress was juxtaposed with black leather skinnies and a midriff-baring sweater to highlight his range.  A black and white tweed short-suit and coral dress-and-jacket combo were classic crowd pleasers  updated for the season.  A black and ivory shimmery ensemble of boy shorts, tank and cardigan was the perfect off-duty outfit for cool girls everywhere.  And then there were the gowns.  Body hugging, fish-tail silhouetted, ruffly concoctions in basic black and vibrant jewel tones rocked the show.  Streamlined, floor length sequined strapless numbers had their place too, as well as quiet and  softly ruffled frothy pastel looks.  Something for everyone… bravo!

Stylish Gucci Accessories (Spring/ Summer 2011 Collection)

Gucci accessories have always been more attractive than clothing (at least for me!). The Spring/ Summer 2011 collection is very interesting. It includes a number of bag styles you will definitely like, shoes that vary from classic peep-toe pumps in vivid colors to cute flats, beautiful sunglasses, scarves that will transform your look completely and other stuff which is both glamorous and elegant.

Bags in Gucci Spring/ Summer 2011 collection come in a variety of styles. You will find tiny and absolutely gorgeous clutches made of chic materials and tied with pretty braid finished with fringe, larger bags adorned with Gucci signature prints and inscriptions, wicker pieces and fabulous purses made from ostrich skin.

Gucci Spring/ Summer 2011 collection of shoes is also wonderful. Take, for instance, the beige suede ankle boot wrapped with fringe – looks just perfect. Other great pairs in the range include: grape-toned sandals with golden heels, denim mules with bows, strap sandals, etc.
