Julianne Moore – Transformation

Julianne Moore knows a thing or two about change. The former military brat moved 23 times during her childhood days, and as an adult she has played everything from a porn star (Boogie Nights) to an FBI agent (Hannibal). The Kids Are All Right lead so easily morphs into different roles, she’s been honored with four Oscar nominations. No wonder going from a blunt bob to messy curls to long and sleek is no big deal. What passes her tress test? “No matter which role she’s playing, her look is always very graceful and timeless,” explains hairstylist John Sahag. “She is more about being genuine than being trendy.” Makeup artist Scott Barnes agrees. “She stays true to herself while keeping her look very modern. Whatever you do with her, whether the look is girl next door or total vamp, it works. She is a great chameleon.”

1995

The Nine Months added side-swept bangs to her auburn locks and accented her baby blues with smoky liner.

1998

She sported a sleek bob and starred in The Big Lebowski.

2004

Back to a shiny, straight mane, Moore attended the GLAAD Media Awards.

2008

Returning to red, she framed her face with a layered cut.

2010

Who says redheads can’t wear red? For the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, she complemented her locks with a crimson dress and matching lipstick.
