Rihanna DRESSED for Cosmopolitan July 2011 Cover

Rihanna loves demonstrating her body whenever she goes and whatever she does. The more revealing the clothing the better. So, I’m quite surprised to see her all dressed for the new Cosmopolitan cover (July 2011 issue). The Bajan beauty wears a modest patterned top and neon pink pants. A number of bangles and a pair of earrings finish the summery look.

Inside the July 2011 edition of Cosmopolitan Magazine Rihanna is featured in a long striped gown posing seductively on a bed.

Although we don’t have any highlights from the interview with Rihanna yet I’m more than sure she will talk sex again. It’s her most favorite topic. Waiting for juicy details!

Oscar de la Renta Resort 2012

Oscar de la Renta showed his newest installment at his 42nd St. showroom in New York City last week.  The collection, inspired by his Spanish roots and cubist elements from Picasso’s works, was modern, cool, and inviting.  Ensembles ranged from the ladylike and demure to the uber saucy.  Scribble patterned sheath dresses in black and white and occasional brights and patchwork appliqués were plentiful and easy to wear.  Crisp boleros paired with skinny trousers, flouncy bright colored one-shouldered gowns with high slits, and voluminous gowns with sashes  evoked the pageantry of a bullfight, but somehow on a sophisticated and tasteful level.  Zorro-style hats tied it all together.  A smart ¾ sleeve polka dot knee length shirt-dress was juxtaposed with black leather skinnies and a midriff-baring sweater to highlight his range.  A black and white tweed short-suit and coral dress-and-jacket combo were classic crowd pleasers  updated for the season.  A black and ivory shimmery ensemble of boy shorts, tank and cardigan was the perfect off-duty outfit for cool girls everywhere.  And then there were the gowns.  Body hugging, fish-tail silhouetted, ruffly concoctions in basic black and vibrant jewel tones rocked the show.  Streamlined, floor length sequined strapless numbers had their place too, as well as quiet and  softly ruffled frothy pastel looks.  Something for everyone… bravo!

Anais Pouliot: China doll

Last we admired Anais Pouliot she was the quintessential French beauty in Numero. This shoot for Vogue Russia could almost be an extension of that one, with similar poses, similar sensuality, similar use of nudity; except now Anais’ character has entered a darker realm. From boudoir to some opulent opium den setting, the exotic silks and kimonos are a running oriental theme through many an editorial right now. Inspiration for mixing colours and prints, yes; but also for the painted red China doll lips and rosy blushing cheeks; a makeup looks that’s a near mandatory match for the clothing.

Olivia Palermo Makes Wearing a Tie Sexy

Mens suiting has been done before — hello, Annie Hall, and Julia Roberts in that Golden Globes outfit — but Olivia Palermo gets the proportions all right in her casually sexy suit. She pairs skinny cropped pants and a boyfriend blazer over a white blouse and loose tie, but adds feminine touches like the jeweled tie clip and clear clutch, and sexy leopard pumps. The overall effect is casual, fun, surprisingly sexy. The notion of menswear for evening just became a lot more attractive.

Cropped Top – The Casual Becomes Sexier In 2011

If you happen to have a flat and sexy tummy, it might be the right time to show off what you got. The new trends in this year offer you this possibility through the cropped tops that are available in every color and tailoring you can think of.

There are numerous misconceptions regarding showing some skin, but this trend proves that there is a truly stylish way to wear these peek-a-boo clothing pieces. There are numerous advantages of these tops, including the fact that they are comfortable to wear and offer a voguish look that no woman can truly live without.

Numerous celebrities have been spotted wearing such tops, and we have to admit that they looked simply stunning. Do you remember Cheryl Cole, or Jenny Frost? We also have to mention Leona Lewis, but remember that you don’t have to look like they do in order to be able to pull off this kind of shirt.

One of the most popular types seems to be the crochet and silk cropped top. To wear them in style all you need is a matching silky pant or maxi skirt.

Do you prefer the romantic look? Just be sure to wear the pants on your hips, and don’t pull them upper. There are numerous collections that come with this kind of idea including big names like Risto, Rag&Bone, and Richard Chai Love.

For a more feminine look you might also want to flash your legs as well, through wearing a shorter skirt. Shorts are working as well as the skirts and they offer a similar look. In case you have been a little lazy during the winter, you might get away with it in case you choose a high-waisted skirt or pants.

When looking for some inspiration in this matter, take a look at the collections of Rachel Comey, Vena Cava and Doo.Ri, not to mention Risto.

In case you would like to have the perfect summer style, just wear your crop top with denim shorts and of course, you also will have to find the perfect shoes for the outfit.

No matter what style you choose, don’t forget that accessories might make wonders for your style.

Rock high heel shoes or cute sandals to make your legs look longer than they really are and also look like the perfect choice. This way you will be able to make your silhouette look simply spotless and the look is just perfect for petite women.

Spring/ Summer 2011 Headwear Trend: Turban

You can admire Oriental fashion forever but what about trying to adopt it into your style? At least one piece, for example, the turban. Turbans have appeared and vanished in fashion collections within a rather long period of time but they couldn’t become trendy until now. This spring and summer designers decided it was the right time and offered dozens turban designs for us to experiment with.

Celebrity fashionistas hesitated for a while and then took the plunge. Since then on everyone from Salma Hayek to Rachel Zoe wear turbans and look and feel wonderful.

The brightest turbans for Spring/ Summer 2011 you can find in Issa collections. They come in a variety of neon colors which range from lemon yellow to magenta. The designer suggests us wearing her turbans with chic evening gowns, romantic dresses and high-waist pants teamed with cropped tops which leave the midriff bare.

Jason Wu’s turbans were in two tones only – black and blue. Pretty simple and versatile, these looked great with any outfit the designer created.

Giorgio Armani also stuck to black and blue but made his turbans different. Some were ordinary and could be worn to any events while others were smart and would work perfectly for special occasions.

Andrew Gn used the ’70s-era Bianca Jagger look to design his turbans and matched those to colors of the garments.

Milly’s turbans come printed which gives you certain restrictions on how to wear those. If you go for a colorful turban your outfit should be simple. Be careful with the balance. Too much of color or patterns doesn’t look good.

As you can see turbans were represented in many Spring/ Summer 2011 collections. And each designer has his own vision of a modern woman wearing turban. Some prefer the classics way of wearing this headpiece and of course there are those who offer us unique ways of rocking this accessory. It’s all up to you what to choose.
