Celeb trend: blue nails

We can thank Chanel’s global creative director for makeup, Peter Philips, for making nail trends as talked about as clothing and accessories.

Last season it was all about taupe nails — more specifically, Chanel’s Particuliere shade. The season before that, Chanel’s jade was the colour to be envied and emulated. Now, with the appearance of blue fingertips at Chanel Cruise 2011, the house has revealed its nail colour of the season: turquoise.

The eggshell-blue shade, officially titled Chanel Nouvelle Vague, has already been spotted on the fingertips of loyal Chanel followers Leigh Lezark, Alexa Chung and Kirsten Dunst. We sense a colossal trend headed our way. Check out our gallery and tell us who pulls if off best?
